Flowers of Yarrow

Earth was once full of divine

Beings of joyful sorrow

Who gloried in feminine sign;

Flowers of yarrow.

But now those days are in decline

Against machine tomorrow

And axe-hearts honed on the block

Cleave old gods like chalk.

Poem: A Walk in the Park

This poem is about how humans prefer nature tamed rather than in its wild and natural form.

A Walk in the Park

A park is not
Nature.

It is too contained.
Rearranged.

Too many straight lines
give the game away.

No untamed wildness allowed.
‘Keep off the grass.’

It is too like a church to be
Spiritual.
